In the first year of life, babies are “busy” to develop many skills and muscle strength in every single part of their body in the same time. 1/ Baby’s process to learn to walk
In the beginning, baby has to learn to stand and when she can keep standing upright, she will start to walk. This process will last for several months.
When baby is about 6 months old, she will jump up and down repeatedly if you keep her stand on your thighs and this can become the most favorite activity of her for several months. Through this, the baby’s leg muscles continue to develop while she learns to control flipping, sitting and crawling.

When she is at home, it is the best to let her walk without shoes. Bare feet will be better in cling to smooth surfaces such as wood or ceramic.

2/ What should parents do help their baby learn to walk?
When your baby learns to stand without supports, she will need some instructions to find the way to sit down. If she can’t sit down and begin crying, you shouldn’t put her down directly. Instead, you should show her how to bend her knees to be able to sit down without tumbling, and let her try herself.
You can encourage her to walk by standing or kneeling in front of her and keep her both hands and let her steps towards you. And she will definitely enjoy a miscellaneous item or a toy that you hold and lure her to step towards you. Always be sure that your baby has a safe environment for her can comfortably practice their skills. For the best results, do not take your eyes off the baby, even for 1 second. Additional to a right diet, entertainment activities which are educational very good for baby’s brain development, especially when she has just toddlers.
3/ Should parents buy the baby a walker?
As recommended by pediatric specialists in the US, using walker is not necessary for baby. Specialists said that a walker could hamper the development of her thigh muscle in a natural way, because they create conditions for her to easily move to reach what she wants. This will make her effort and her food healthy decreases.
4/ When should baby wear shoes
Wear shoes is the simplest way to protect your baby’s pretty small feet. However, according to specialists, walking by bare feet will help to improve balance and coordination of the foot and the toes. The shoes will not help baby to learn walking faster. Therefore, you should delay time for her to wear shoes and wait until she can walk steady
